The "Ramon y Cajal" program is based on the incorporation, for a five-year position, of young scientists with a solid research career and international profesional experience. It is a path designed to attract national and international talent to the Spanish system of Science and Technology similar to "Tenure track" established in other countries. This call, funded by the current Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO), has allowed the CBM to incorporate a number of promising emerging scientists that are currently part of the scientific staff of our Center. Given its nature as a joint Center between the Autonoma University of Madrid (UAM) and the Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), these contracts may be formalized by both institutions.
